Child Shot, Chambersburg Man Arrested For Gun Offenses: Police

A child was hospitalized after being shot on Birch Street in Chambersburg, where a local man was later arrested on firearms charges, police announced on Friday, Dec. 13.

The shooting happened on the 200 block of Birch Street at 6:20 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, according to Chambersburg Police.

Officers found a child suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was taken to Chambersburg Hospital and later flown to an advanced care facility for treatment, authorities said.

As part of their investigation, police arrested Anthony McCune on firearms-related offenses.

The incident is believed to be isolated, police noted.
